Industry-Aligned Skill Development at SAI DHAM

In a significant initiative to strengthen India’s construction workforce, CREDAI CSR Foundation (CCF) successfully conducted a 15-day Skill Upgradation Training Programme for more than 70 construction workers at SAI DHAM, Kohli’s Avenue, Prayagraj. The programme was designed to enhance workers’ technical capabilities while building greater awareness of workplace safety, safe construction practices, quality standards, productivity and modern construction techniques. Delivered through an NSQF-aligned course framework, the initiative provided structured, industry-relevant learning and recognition of workers’ skills.

Training Focused on Skills, Safety and Productivity

The programme reflected the commitment of CREDAI CSR Foundation towards improving the employability, productivity and socio-economic well-being of construction workers. Its skilling initiatives seek to address the significant gap in formal training within the construction workforce through on-site and off-site skill development programmes.

At SAI DHAM, the 15-day programme combined practical learning with essential theoretical inputs, enabling participants to build on their existing site experience and upgrade their capabilities in line with industry requirements. Particular emphasis was placed on occupational safety, correct work practices, quality workmanship, productivity improvement and awareness of modern construction standards.

Training Programme at SAI DHAM, Kohli’s Avenue

The training at SAI DHAM, Kohli’s Avenue, Prayagraj witnessed enthusiastic participation from 140+ construction workers associated with the project. The structured programme recognised that construction workers bring valuable practical experience to their roles while also benefiting from formalised technical guidance and updated industry practices.

The use of an NSQF-aligned framework added a structured dimension to the learning process. The framework focuses on learning outcomes and supports the recognition of skills acquired through formal, non-formal and informal learning. For workers, such structured training can help connect existing practical experience with recognised skill development.

Certificates and CREDAI CSR Foundation T-Shirts Presented

Following successful completion of the training programme, participating workers were felicitated with training certificates and CREDAI CSR Foundation T-shirts in recognition of their participation and commitment to professional skill development.

The certification and recognition ceremony highlighted the important contribution of construction workers to India’s infrastructure and real estate development. Beyond marking completion of the programme, the occasion reinforced the importance of continuous learning, professional recognition and workplace preparedness for workers who play a vital role in delivering construction projects.

SAI DHAM Leadership Supports Worker Development

The programme received active support from the management and site team of SAI DHAM, Kohli’s Avenue, Prayagraj. Those present on the occasion included Rajesh Gupta – Managing Director; Annu Gupta – Project Manager; Tanveer Alam – Building Contractor; Deepam Panday – Site Engineer; and Sandeep Kumar – Foreman.

The training was conducted by experienced trainers Balvinder Singh and Nitish Yadav, who provided technical guidance and practical inputs throughout the programme. Their involvement helped participants engage with the training in a manner connected to their day-to-day responsibilities at the construction site.

Kivisory Skills Pvt. Ltd. Supports the Training Initiative

The programme was implemented with the support of Kivisory Skills Private Limited, the key Training Partner associated with the CREDAI CSR Foundation’s skilling initiative.

Vineet Yati, Managing Director, Kivisory Skills Pvt. Ltd., highlighted the importance of continuous upskilling in the construction sector. He noted that construction workers possess valuable practical experience acquired over years of working on sites, while structured upskilling can strengthen that experience with industry-aligned technical knowledge, safety practices and quality standards.

He further emphasised that skill development is not limited to technical capability. It can also contribute to building a safer, more productive and professionally recognised workforce, helping workers strengthen their role within an evolving construction ecosystem.

Building a Safer and More Skilled Construction Workforce

The construction sector remains an important employment-generating part of India’s economy, while a substantial section of its workforce traditionally develops skills informally through on-site experience. Initiatives such as the CREDAI CSR Foundation programme seek to bridge this gap through structured, industry-oriented training and recognition of existing skills.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and NSQF-aligned programmes provide mechanisms for recognising competencies developed through work experience and informal learning. In this context, the successful completion of the programme at SAI DHAM represents a meaningful step towards strengthening workers with technical knowledge, safety awareness, professional recognition and improved workplace practices.

The initiative also demonstrates the value of collaboration among CREDAI CSR Foundation, SAI DHAM, Kohli’s Avenue and Kivisory Skills Pvt. Ltd. By bringing together an industry-focused training framework, site-level participation and experienced trainers, the programme contributes to the broader objective of developing a stronger and more skilled construction workforce.

Conclusion

The 15-day Skill Upgradation Training Programme at SAI DHAM, Kohli’s Avenue, Prayagraj represents a focused effort to support construction workers through structured learning and professional recognition. With participation from 140+ workers, practical and theoretical inputs, an NSQF-aligned framework, and recognition through certificates, the initiative placed equal attention on skill enhancement, workplace safety, quality and productivity.

Such programmes can help strengthen the connection between workers’ existing experience and evolving industry expectations. The collaboration between CREDAI CSR Foundation, SAI DHAM and Kivisory Skills Pvt. Ltd. underlines how coordinated efforts can contribute to a safer, more capable and professionally recognised construction workforce.
