Eknath Shinde Speaks to Tiger Shroff After Mumbai Firing, Vows Strict Action Against Criminal Gangs

Eknath Shinde Speaks to Tiger Shroff After Mumbai Firing, Vows Strict Action Against Criminal Gangs

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has assured Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff and his family of the state government's support following a firing incident involving the actor's vehicle in Mumbai's Juhu area. Shinde condemned the incident and warned that anyone found responsible would face strict action, stressing that threats and criminal intimidation would not be tolerated in the city.

The Deputy Chief Minister visited Shroff at his residence late on Sunday, October 18, after unidentified assailants opened fire near Pushpa Narsee Park in Juhu. The incident has prompted a police investigation, with authorities examining the circumstances surrounding the shooting and attempting to identify those involved.

Shinde also spoke with Shroff's father, veteran actor Jackie Shroff, and assured the family that the government would take the matter seriously.

Eknath Shinde Warns Criminal Gangs

Speaking after the incident, Shinde said the safety of Mumbai residents remained the government's priority and that the police would pursue those responsible for the attack.

He warned that no criminal group would be allowed to establish control through threats or violence. Referring to Mumbai's history of action against organised crime, he said the authorities would respond firmly to any attempt to spread fear.

Shinde also emphasised that public figures and ordinary citizens deserved equal protection. He indicated that the government would not overlook threats directed at individuals and that law enforcement agencies had been instructed to investigate the incident.

The assurance comes amid renewed concerns about the safety of people in the entertainment industry following reports of threats allegedly connected to organised criminal networks.

What Happened to Tiger Shroff in Juhu?

The shooting took place on Sunday evening as Shroff was leaving an area near Pushpa Narsee Park after playing football. Unidentified men reportedly opened fire at a vehicle associated with the actor.

Shroff escaped a direct gunshot injury, although subsequent photographs showed him with bandages and dressings. Shinde said the actor had sustained minor injuries to his hand from gunpowder and fragments of broken glass.

The actor's driver, identified as Firdosh in reports, sustained a gunshot injury to his left hand and received medical attention. Another person was also reported to have been injured during the incident.

The shooting triggered a police response, with investigators examining available CCTV footage, collecting evidence and questioning people who may be able to provide information about the attack.

Authorities are working to establish the sequence of events, identify the suspects and determine the motive.

Alleged Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Connection Under Investigation

Following the shooting, a social media message and an audio recording allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang circulated online, claiming responsibility for the incident.

The purported messages also contained threats directed at people in the film industry who continue to work with actor Salman Khan. The claims have added another dimension to the investigation, although the alleged gang connection has not been conclusively established by police.

Investigators will need to verify the authenticity of the messages and determine whether the individuals named in them have any actual connection to the shooting. A claim circulated online is not, by itself, proof of involvement in a criminal offence.

The investigation is expected to examine both the physical evidence from the scene and the digital material that emerged afterwards.

Government Assures Security and Firm Action

Shinde's visit reflects the government's response to concerns raised by the attack. The Deputy Chief Minister reiterated that intimidation would not be accepted and that those found responsible would face action under the law.

The incident has also renewed discussion about security arrangements for celebrities and other people who may face threats. Effective protection, however, depends on assessing specific risks and responding to credible information.

For now, the central focus remains on the police investigation. Establishing who carried out the shooting, identifying the motive and verifying the alleged criminal links will be essential to bringing the case to a conclusion.

Shinde's message was clear: the government intends to act firmly against those responsible, while investigators continue working to establish the facts surrounding the Juhu incident.
