In a significant move aimed at accelerating entrepreneurship and strengthening India’s MSME sector, the Federation of Industries Research and Development (FIRD) has officially launched the Bharath Udyam Seva Kendra Project, a nationwide initiative designed to simplify access to government schemes, business support programs, and entrepreneurial development opportunities.

The launch was announced during a grand event held on 24 May 2026 at Aldovia Convention Centre, Bengaluru, where more than 3,000 entrepreneurs from South India gathered to gain insights into various government initiatives, MSME benefits, startup opportunities, and industrial development programs.

The event brought together distinguished dignitaries, policymakers, industry leaders, and representatives from both State and Central Government institutions, reflecting the growing importance of MSME-led economic growth in India.

Creating a Stronger Support System for Entrepreneurs

India’s MSME sector remains one of the country’s most powerful economic engines, contributing significantly to employment generation, exports, manufacturing growth, and innovation.

Despite the availability of numerous government schemes, a large number of entrepreneurs continue to face challenges in accessing these benefits due to lack of awareness, procedural complexities, and inadequate facilitation at the grassroots level.

The Bharath Udyam Seva Kendra initiative seeks to address this gap by establishing dedicated support centers that will guide entrepreneurs through various government programs and business development opportunities.

The centers will provide assistance related to:

  • MSME Registration and Compliance
  • Startup India Benefits
  • Central and State Government Subsidies
  • Credit Facilitation Programs
  • Skill Development Initiatives
  • Export Promotion Schemes
  • Digital Business Transformation
  • Industry-Specific Incentive Programs

By bringing information and facilitation closer to entrepreneurs, the initiative aims to improve participation in government-led development programs and encourage sustainable business growth.

Expansion Plan: Every Taluk to Have Bharath Udyam Seva Kendras

Addressing the gathering, National Administrator Smt. Samridhi Thapar unveiled the Federation’s ambitious expansion roadmap.

She announced that the organization plans to establish two to three Bharath Udyam Seva Kendras in every Taluk across India before the end of 2026.

The objective is to build a decentralized support network capable of reaching entrepreneurs in urban, semi-urban, and rural regions alike.

This extensive reach is expected to significantly improve awareness and accessibility of government-backed opportunities among aspiring entrepreneurs and existing business owners.

BUDYAM App to Drive Digital Entrepreneurship Awareness

A major highlight of the event was the announcement of the upcoming BUDYAM App, scheduled for launch in August 2026.

The platform is being developed as a comprehensive digital resource for entrepreneurs and MSMEs.

Key features expected to be available on the platform include:

  • Real-Time Government Scheme Updates
  • Ministry Notifications and Announcements
  • Business Support Services
  • Entrepreneur Training Modules
  • Startup Guidance Resources
  • Industry Networking Opportunities
  • Funding and Facilitation Information

The application is expected to serve as a centralized knowledge platform that promotes entrepreneurship culture and improves engagement between businesses and government initiatives.

Industry Leaders Take Oath to Promote Entrepreneurship

During the event, senior office bearers and board members of the Federation from various states formally pledged their commitment to supporting entrepreneurship development and industrial growth across India.

The leadership team present included:

  • Dr. Lalit Verma IAS, National Chairman
  • Rasheed IPS, National Vice Chairman (Development)
  • Dr. Vempalli Amanulla, National Vice Chairman (Trade)
  • Subish Vasudev, National Administration Secretary
  • Shivendra Singh, National Director of Facilitation
  • Dr. Sambashiva
  • Arvind Govindappa, Divisional Chairman
  • Manjunath Acharya, Director

The leaders collectively emphasized the importance of creating an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem capable of driving India’s long-term economic transformation.

Technology Integration to Enhance MSME Facilitation

To strengthen its digital capabilities, the Federation has also constituted a specialized technical and research team under the leadership of Dr. Naveen Kumar, National Technical and Research Director.

The team has been tasked with integrating the BUDYAM platform with the Federation’s existing INDAPP ecosystem, creating a unified digital infrastructure that improves service delivery, information access, and entrepreneur engagement nationwide.

Advancing India’s Vision of Entrepreneur-Led Growth

The launch of Bharath Udyam Seva Kendra reflects a broader vision of empowering entrepreneurs through knowledge, accessibility, and institutional support.

As India continues its journey toward becoming a global economic powerhouse, initiatives that strengthen MSMEs, promote innovation, and improve access to government resources will play a critical role in shaping the country’s future.

With its nationwide outreach strategy, technology-driven approach, and commitment to grassroots entrepreneurship, the Bharath Udyam Seva Kendra initiative is positioned to become a significant catalyst in India’s next phase of economic and industrial development.
