Ajmer, Rajasthan | August 2026
Every entrepreneurial and creative journey has a story behind it, but some stories are shaped as much by resilience as they are by ambition. Geetanjali Bhatia, an author, entrepreneur and experienced spoken English trainer from Ajmer, Rajasthan, has built her journey through education, professional experience, personal challenges and an enduring determination to move forward.
Today, she runs Geet & Gupshup, a café in Ajmer, while also pursuing her passion for literature as the author of the recently published Hindi book Soulmate… O Sathi Re.
From Ajmer to Mumbai: The Beginning of Her Journey
Geetanjali Bhatia was born into a middle-class family and grew up with two elder brothers. She began her early education in Ajmer, Rajasthan, before her family moved to Mumbai due to her father’s business.
Mumbai became an important part of her educational and professional journey. She completed her graduation from Mumbai University and subsequently travelled to Thailand to pursue TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
Her training and education helped establish the foundation for a career in language education and professional training.
Building a Career as a Spoken English Trainer
Geetanjali’s professional identity has been closely associated with spoken English training. Over the years, she has worked with multiple institutions, helping learners improve their English communication and confidence.
Her professional experience includes working with institutions such as SM Laal, Malad, Mumbai, along with other organisations where she worked as a spoken English trainer.
Her work in English language training reflects her interest in education and communication—two areas that have remained central to her professional journey.
A Major Turning Point in the UAE
After marriage, Geetanjali moved to Ajman, UAE, where she continued working as a trainer.
However, the second year of her marriage brought a life-changing personal crisis when her husband suffered a brain hemorrhage.
He remained in a coma for almost three years.
The prolonged period of treatment placed an immense emotional, physical and financial burden on Geetanjali. Managing medical treatment while navigating the personal challenges of the situation became one of the most difficult phases of her life.
She describes having been drained financially, emotionally and physically during those years.
Following her husband’s death, she also went through a period of depression.
Choosing to Move Forward
The loss marked another major turning point in Geetanjali’s life.
Rather than allowing the difficult period to define the rest of her journey, she made a conscious decision to rebuild her life.
A doctor’s suggestion to change her surroundings eventually encouraged her to return to Ajmer, a city connected to her early years and personal roots.
Coming back to Ajmer provided an opportunity to begin another chapter—one focused on rebuilding, creativity and entrepreneurship.
Her journey demonstrates that personal setbacks can fundamentally change the direction of a person’s life, but they do not necessarily have to determine its final destination.
From Trainer to Café Entrepreneur
Today, Geetanjali is also the entrepreneur behind Geet & Gupshup, a small café in Ajmer.
The café represents another dimension of her professional journey, allowing her to explore entrepreneurship while creating a space connected to conversation, community and everyday interactions.
The venture reflects her willingness to begin something new after navigating significant personal and professional transitions.
For Geetanjali, entrepreneurship is not simply about operating a business. It represents another opportunity to remain engaged, independent and connected with people.
A New Chapter as an Author
Alongside running her café, Geetanjali has recently entered the world of publishing with her Hindi book Soulmate… O Sathi Re.
The book marks an important creative milestone in her journey.
Writing has provided her with another medium through which she can express thoughts, emotions and experiences. The decision to publish a Hindi-language book also connects her creative work with the language and cultural environment she has grown up around.
Her transition from spoken English trainer to Hindi author demonstrates the diverse dimensions of her professional and creative interests.

A Journey Defined by Resilience
Geetanjali Bhatia’s story is ultimately not only about being an author, entrepreneur or spoken English trainer.
It is about rebuilding.
From growing up in Ajmer and moving to Mumbai, to pursuing TESOL training in Thailand, developing a career in spoken English education, moving to the UAE after marriage, facing years of caregiving and loss, and eventually returning to Ajmer to begin again, her journey has involved several significant transitions.
Each phase has contributed to the person she is today.
Her café and book represent two different expressions of her current life: one rooted in entrepreneurship and community, and the other in creativity and storytelling.
Looking Ahead
Based in Ajmer, Rajasthan, Geetanjali Bhatia continues to balance her work as an entrepreneur and author with her background in spoken English training.
Her journey serves as a reminder that professional identity does not have to remain fixed. A person can be a trainer, entrepreneur and author at different stages—or simultaneously—while continuing to evolve.
For Geetanjali, the next chapter is about moving forward with purpose, building her café, sharing her writing and continuing to explore new opportunities.
Her story is not defined solely by the challenges she has faced. It is also defined by the decision to start again.
