How a simple love for flavoured peanuts became a premium snacking brandEvery great food brand begins with a simple question: “Why isn't there something better?”For Harrison Raj G, that question led to the creation of Booze Bites—a snack brand built around a simple idea: creating flavourful, convenient and premium snacks for people who enjoy good food and social occasions.
The concept started with something familiar to millions of Indians—peanuts. But Harrison wanted to look at peanuts differently. Instead of treating them as an ordinary everyday snack, the vision was to transform them into a more exciting, flavour-driven product that could fit naturally into gatherings, parties, travel, movie nights and casual social occasions.
From an Idea to a Brand
Booze Bites was born from the idea of making premium bar-style snacks accessible in a convenient packaged format. The brand focuses on bold flavours and easy-to-carry packaging, with products designed to deliver a satisfying crunch and strong flavour in every bite.
Among the flavours developed for the brand are:
•Tandoori Peanuts
•Lemon Chilli Peanuts
•Cheese Corn Nuts
The product development process involved much more than choosing flavours.
Harrison explored raw-material sourcing, seasoning, manufacturing, packaging, transportation, pricing, margins, food regulations and consumer preferences. That process turned a simple product idea into a real business project.
Why Peanuts?
Peanuts are one of the most familiar snack ingredients in India.
They are affordable, versatile and capable of carrying a wide range of flavours.
For Booze Bites, the opportunity was to combine that familiarity with modern flavour
profiles and contemporary branding.
The goal wasn't to reinvent the peanut itself.
It was to reinvent the way people experience it.
More Than Just a Snack
The name Booze Bites was developed around the brand's original positioning as a snack suitable for social drinking occasions. However, the product itself is intended to stand independently as a snack.
Whether someone is having a drink, watching a movie, travelling, hosting friends or simply looking for something crunchy, the objective is to make Booze Bites a convenient choice.
The brand's positioning can therefore extend beyond one particular occasion.
“The Bite Every Sip Needs.”
This idea captures the original concept behind Booze Bites: pairing flavourful food with moments of enjoyment and conversation.
Building the Brand From the Ground Up
Creating a packaged food brand involves considerably more work than simply putting a product into a packet. Harrison has been involved in understanding the entire process—from product formulation and manufacturing to packaging and market positioning.
Questions such as:
What should the pack size be?
How much should the product cost?
Which flavours will consumers repeat-buy?
How should the brand look on a retail shelf?
How can a new brand compete with established snack companies?
These are the practical challenges behind building Booze Bites.
The brand has explored compact consumer-friendly pack sizes, including an 80-gram format, with attention to packaging presentation, shelf appeal and product protection.
The Entrepreneur Behind the Brand
For Harrison, Booze Bites represents more than another business idea.
It is an opportunity to learn entrepreneurship by actually building a consumer brand.
His professional background in EHS taught him about systems, risk assessment, compliance and operational discipline.
Booze Bites introduced a completely different set of challenges—branding, consumer behaviour, food manufacturing, marketing, pricing and distribution.
Bringing these two worlds together has helped him approach the business with a structured mindset.
Starting Small, Thinking Bigger
Every established FMCG brand once started with a product, a customer and an idea.
Booze Bites is currently at that early stage. The focus is on developing the product, understanding customers, testing flavours and building awareness before expanding into a wider product portfolio.
The long-term vision is not limited to one peanut flavour. The brand has the potential to explore additional snack varieties, flavour combinations and formats while maintaining its core identity around bold taste and social snacking.
The Road Ahead
The packaged-snack industry is highly competitive, and building a successful consumer brand requires more than an attractive package. It requires consistency, product quality, regulatory compliance, customer trust and the ability to understand changing consumer preferences.
Booze Bites is taking its first steps into that journey.
For Harrison, the most important part isn't simply launching a packet.
It's building a brand that people remember.
