A confrontation between a woman and her husband in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut reportedly turned into a dramatic roadside incident after she allegedly found him with another woman inside a car. The woman, identified as Sunita Singh, reportedly tried to stop the vehicle when her husband, Mayank Singh, attempted to leave the spot.
According to reports, the incident took place on Saturday evening in the Lohianagar area of Meerut. Mayank was reportedly in his car with Mahi Verma, whom Sunita identified as his alleged girlfriend. After seeing the two together, Sunita confronted them, leading to an argument near the L-Block police outpost on Hapur Road.
Woman Holds Onto Moving Car
The situation reportedly escalated when Mayank tried to drive away. Sunita moved in front of the vehicle in an effort to stop him and subsequently ended up on the bonnet as the car began moving.
A video circulating on social media appears to show the woman holding onto the front of the moving vehicle while people nearby attempted to intervene. Reports differ on the distance covered, with some accounts saying the car travelled around 100 metres before stopping, while other reports describe a longer movement.
Witnesses reportedly gathered after hearing the woman call for help. The vehicle eventually stopped, allowing people at the scene to intervene.
Police Arrest Husband and Alleged Girlfriend
Following the incident, Sunita approached the police and submitted a complaint against her husband. She reportedly accused Mayank of assault, harassment related to dowry and maintaining a relationship with another woman. Police subsequently registered a case that includes an attempt-to-murder allegation based on the complaint.
Meerut police arrested both Mayank Singh and Mahi Verma in connection with the incident. The car allegedly used during the confrontation was also taken into police custody as part of the investigation. Circle Officer Kotwali Sangram Singh confirmed that action had been taken following the complaint.

Footage showing the woman on the bonnet has since spread widely online, bringing significant attention to the Meerut incident. The video has prompted discussion about the confrontation and the alleged actions that followed.
