POCO has expanded its smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the POCO X8 and POCO X8 Power, two mid-range devices designed around large batteries, high-refresh-rate displays and Snapdragon processors. The standard POCO X8 starts at ₹29,999, while the more advanced X8 Power is priced from ₹35,999. The standout feature is battery capacity, which reaches 10,000mAh on the Power model.
Both smartphones were introduced on September 4, 2026, and are scheduled to go on sale from September 11. The POCO X8 offers a 9,000mAh battery, while the X8 Power takes capacity further with a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon cell and support for 100W fast charging.
POCO X8 and X8 Power: Price and Availability
The POCO X8 is priced at ₹29,999 for its base configuration, while the POCO X8 Power starts at ₹35,999. Launch offers include a ₹2,000 coupon discount and an additional ₹1,000 bank offer or exchange bonus, potentially bringing the effective starting prices to ₹26,999 and ₹32,999, respectively.
The X8 is available in Black, Fiery Orange and Frost White colour options. The X8 Power comes in Black and Yellow. Both models are positioned in the mid-range smartphone segment, with the Power variant offering upgraded battery, camera and processing capabilities.
Display and Performance Specifications
Both phones feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution of 2,772 × 1,280 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The higher refresh rate is intended to deliver smoother scrolling, animations and supported gaming experiences.
The displays also support peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits and are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The X8 Power adds HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support, giving it additional capabilities for compatible video content.
Under the hood, the POCO X8 uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor, while the X8 Power runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset. The Power model also features LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, providing faster memory and storage technology than the standard model.
Both devices run Android 16-based HyperOS 3. The company has promised four years of Android operating system updates and six years of security updates for the two smartphones.
Battery Capacity Is the Main Difference
Battery life is a major selling point for the new X8 series. The POCO X8 houses a 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 67W fast charging. The X8 Power increases capacity to 10,000mAh and supports 100W charging.
The larger battery could appeal to people who spend extended periods away from power outlets, including frequent travellers and users who regularly stream videos or play mobile games. Both models also support wired reverse charging, allowing them to supply power to compatible devices.
However, actual battery endurance will depend on screen brightness, network conditions, applications and usage patterns. The larger battery also contributes to the X8 Power's weight of approximately 229 grams.
Camera Features and Durability
The POCO X8 includes a 50-megapixel primary rear camera with optical image stabilisation, alongside a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It has a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.
The X8 Power features a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilisation, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 32-megapixel front camera. Both devices also offer stereo speakers and multiple dust- and water-resistance certifications.
With their large batteries, AMOLED displays and extended software support, the POCO X8 and X8 Power offer two different approaches to the mid-range market. The standard model targets buyers seeking a lower entry price, while the Power variant is aimed at those who prioritise battery capacity, faster charging and upgraded hardware.
