As India’s tourism and hospitality sector continues to witness significant expansion, businesses across the industry are seeking stronger collaboration, greater transparency, and reliable support systems to navigate an increasingly competitive marketplace. Recognising this evolving need, the Professional Travel Agents and Hotels Association (PTAHA) has been established as a Section 8 not-for-profit organization, committed to creating a more connected, ethical, and growth-oriented ecosystem for travel and hospitality professionals.

Bringing together travel agents, hoteliers, tour operators, destination management companies (DMCs), tourism service providers, and industry stakeholders, PTAHA aims to foster long-term business relationships while creating opportunities that benefit members across India.

A Modern Association Built Around Member Success

Unlike traditional industry associations that primarily focus on networking events, PTAHA has adopted a broader vision centred on continuous business development, professional education, ethical practices, and nationwide collaboration.

The association is led by Founding Member Mr. Budhadev Rishi Deepak, together with founding members Mr. Suresh Nair, Mr. Aman Soni, Mr. Pradeep Rathor, Mr. Mohit Mahajan, and Mr. Vikram Narula. Their collective vision is to establish an organization where every member—regardless of business size or location—receives equal opportunities to grow, connect, and succeed.

Empowering Members Through Knowledge and Industry Engagement

PTAHA believes that continuous learning and professional networking are essential for sustainable business growth.

To support this objective, the association plans to organize:

  • Educational workshops and online learning sessions
  • Familiarization (FAM) trips
  • Tourism awareness programmes
  • Business networking events
  • Digital community engagement
  • Industry collaborations and knowledge-sharing initiatives

These programmes are designed to help members stay informed about emerging travel trends, strengthen professional relationships, and explore new business opportunities.

Driving Business Visibility Across India

One of PTAHA’s distinctive initiatives is its commitment to promoting member businesses through tourism exhibitions and travel trade events held across the country.

The association plans to showcase member companies by displaying their branding at exhibition booths, distributing promotional materials, and facilitating post-event business connections. Even members who are unable to attend these exhibitions personally will have opportunities to benefit from the association’s promotional activities.

This approach reflects PTAHA’s objective of creating year-round marketing support for its members while enhancing their visibility within the travel industry.

Strengthening Confidence Through Business Protection Initiatives

Trust remains fundamental to successful business relationships in the tourism sector.

To encourage safer business transactions within its network, PTAHA has proposed a Third-Party Fraud Protection Policy of up to ₹5 lakh, subject to the association’s eligibility criteria, policies, and operational guidelines.

Additionally, the association plans to facilitate short-term bank guarantee assistance of up to ₹5 lakh for eligible business transactions for a period of up to 15 days, in accordance with its approved terms and conditions.

These initiatives have been designed to promote responsible business practices while providing additional confidence to members conducting transactions within the PTAHA community.

Transparent Governance with Nationwide Representation

PTAHA has adopted a structured organisational framework to ensure effective administration across the country.

Its operations will be managed through North, South, East, West, and Central Zones, with designated Zonal Officers working under the guidance of the National Committee.

The association also intends to establish a dedicated Grievance Cell, supported by a Senior Advisory Team, to address member concerns through a fair, transparent, and professional resolution process.

Democratic elections, financial accountability, ethical governance, and transparency remain central to PTAHA’s long-term operational philosophy. The association also emphasizes that it functions independently as a non-political organization, committed solely to advancing the interests of India’s travel and hospitality industry.

A Vision for a Stronger Tourism Ecosystem

According to Mr. Budhadev Rishi Deepak, Founding Member of PTAHA, the future of India’s tourism industry depends on collaboration, trust, and collective progress.

He believes that by creating an organization focused on member welfare, ethical business practices, and professional growth, PTAHA can contribute meaningfully to strengthening India’s tourism ecosystem while helping businesses thrive in a rapidly evolving marketplace.

Looking Ahead

As India’s travel industry continues to expand domestically and internationally, PTAHA aims to become a trusted platform that connects professionals, promotes responsible business practices, and creates long-term opportunities for its members.

Through business networking, educational initiatives, industry promotion, governance, and member-focused support, the Professional Travel Agents and Hotels Association is working toward building a stronger, more collaborative future for India’s travel and hospitality sector.
