Mumbai, September 23, 2026: Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s upcoming fantasy entertainer The Vvaan has cleared an important pre-release milestone after receiving a U/A 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) without any cuts or modifications.
The certification comes just days before the film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on September 25, 2026, putting the focus back on its folklore-driven storyline, visual scale and lead cast. The CBFC certification records also confirm the film’s certification process in September.
The Vvaan Cleared Without Audio or Visual Changes
According to the available certification details, the CBFC’s Examining Committee did not ask the makers to make changes to the film’s audio or visuals. The film has received a U/A 16+ rating, while its certified runtime is listed at approximately 136.25 minutes, or 2 hours, 16 minutes and 25 seconds.
The clean certification is notable because films can sometimes receive requests for edits, modifications, disclaimers or other changes during the certification process. In the case of The Vvaan, no such cuts or modifications were reportedly required.
The U/A 16+ classification indicates that the film has been certified for viewers aged 16 and above, with the applicable parental-guidance provisions for younger viewers.

Directed by Deepak Mishra, The Vvaan brings Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia together for a story rooted in Indian folklore and fantasy.
The film combines elements of mystery, adventure, romance, action and humour, with its narrative centred around a mysterious forest and the traditions and rules connected to it. The recently released trailer has introduced audiences to a world where folklore and supernatural elements play an important role.
The project also brings together filmmaker Deepak Mishra and writer Arunabh Kumar, with Kumar associated with TVF. The film is presented by Balaji Motion Pictures in association with TVF and 11.11 Production.
A Folklore Universe Beyond the Film
The Vvaan is also being developed with a larger storytelling ecosystem around its central folklore concept. Earlier, an official graphic novel titled The Legend of Vvaan was released, expanding the world of the film and functioning as a prequel to its cinematic story.
The graphic novel was created by Alok Sharma and Saumin Patel, using story elements sourced from the film's creators. This gives audiences additional material connected to the fictional universe before the movie reaches theatres.

With the CBFC process now completed without cuts or modifications, The Vvaan is ready for its theatrical release later this week.
