Hyderabad, Telangana, India: In an era when a few minutes can make a significant difference during an emergency, access to timely and relevant information is becoming an important part of community safety. Savdhan India, an AI-powered community safety application, is designed to help people receive information about incidents and emergencies occurring in their vicinity through a hyperlocal alert network.

Developed with the objective of strengthening community-level awareness, Savdhan India focuses on incidents such as road accidents, crimes, missing persons, fire emergencies, traffic disruptions, disasters, women’s safety concerns and emergency blood requirements.

Creating a Hyperlocal Safety Information Network

Information about local emergencies often spreads through WhatsApp groups, social media platforms or news channels. While these channels can help circulate information, the information may not always reach people in the immediate vicinity at the right time.

Savdhan India aims to address this gap by creating a more focused, location-based safety information system.

When an incident is reported through the application, the platform is designed to use AI-assisted validation and duplicate checks before processing the report. Following the required checks, relevant users within approximately a 2–5 km radius can receive a hyperlocal safety alert.

For instance, if a road accident is reported in a particular area, people travelling nearby could receive an alert and consider taking an alternative route. Individuals in the vicinity who may be able to provide appropriate assistance can also become aware of the incident.

The approach is centred on one principle: relevant information should reach relevant people as quickly as possible.

AI-Assisted Incident Validation

One of the notable aspects of Savdhan India is its use of AI-assisted processes for reported incidents.

Before an alert is distributed, the system is designed to perform validation and identify duplicate reports. This approach is intended to improve the relevance of information being circulated through the platform and reduce unnecessary duplication.

The app is positioned as an additional community-information layer rather than a replacement for police, ambulance, fire services or other official emergency-response systems.

Emergency Blood Requests

Beyond incident alerts, Savdhan India also incorporates an emergency blood-request feature.

When a blood requirement is submitted, the system can identify relevant registered donors within approximately a 5–10 km radius, based on the required blood group and available information.

In urgent medical situations, locating a suitable donor nearby can be challenging. By connecting blood requests with registered potential donors in the surrounding area, the platform seeks to create another channel through which communities can respond to emergency requirements.

Covering Multiple Community Safety Situations

Savdhan India’s proposed safety network covers a range of situations that can affect individuals and communities, including:

Road accidents and emergencies
Crime-related alerts
Missing-person information
Women’s safety
Fire incidents
Natural and other disasters
Traffic-related hazards
Emergency blood requirements

The broad scope reflects an attempt to create a single platform through which users can become more aware of safety-related situations around them.

A Community-Driven Approach to Public Safety

Technology can provide infrastructure, but community participation remains essential to the effectiveness of any hyperlocal safety network.

Savdhan India encourages citizens to participate by downloading the application and sharing it with family members, friends and others in their communities. The larger the network of participating users, the greater the potential for relevant safety information to reach people in affected areas.

The platform’s vision is therefore not limited to developing another mobile application. It is focused on building a community-based safety information ecosystem where citizens can stay informed about incidents that may directly affect their surroundings.

Founded in Hyderabad

Savdhan India is being developed in Hyderabad, Telangana, under the leadership of Abhilash Ranga, Founder, and Maharshi Neela, Co-Founder.

The initiative reflects a broader movement toward using technology, location-based services and artificial intelligence to address practical community challenges.

As smartphones and digital platforms become increasingly integrated into everyday life, applications such as Savdhan India demonstrate how technology can potentially be used beyond convenience and entertainment—to improve awareness and strengthen community connections during critical situations.

Building a Safer, More Connected Community

Savdhan India’s proposition is straightforward: people should have better access to relevant safety information about what is happening around them.

By combining AI-assisted incident validation, hyperlocal alerts and emergency blood-request capabilities, the platform aims to create an additional communication layer for communities across India.

The success of such a network ultimately depends on responsible reporting, user participation and appropriate coordination with official emergency systems. Savdhan India does not seek to replace those systems; instead, its stated objective is to complement them by helping communities become more aware of incidents in their vicinity.

The application is currently available free of charge on the Google Play Store, with the team encouraging citizens to download and share it within their communities.
