Achraf Hakimi produced a landmark performance for Paris Saint-Germain, scoring the first hat-trick of his career as the French champions came from behind to defeat Le Havre 5-1 in Ligue 1 on October 30.
The Moroccan international was involved in all five of PSG’s goals, finding the net three times and providing two assists. His outstanding contribution helped the visitors recover from an early setback and strengthen their position at the top of the league table.
The result extended PSG’s winning run in all competitions to nine matches. They moved to 20 points from nine league fixtures, maintaining their place among the leading sides in the competition.
Le Havre Strike First, but PSG Respond Quickly
Le Havre made an encouraging start and surprised the visitors by taking the lead in the 18th minute. Josh Maja finished a move initiated by Rayan Fofana, giving the hosts an early advantage.
PSG gradually regained control and found an equaliser eight minutes later. Hakimi helped create the opportunity, delivering the ball for Mika Godts, who finished to make it 1-1.
The turnaround came just two minutes after the equaliser. Senny Mayulu played Hakimi through on goal, and the right-back beat goalkeeper Arnaud Bodart to put PSG ahead in the 28th minute.
The quick succession of goals changed the momentum of the match. Le Havre had started confidently, but PSG's attacking movement began to create increasing problems for the home defence.
Hakimi Adds a Free-Kick Goal After the Break
Hakimi continued his impressive display in the second half. In the 55th minute, he scored directly from a free kick, sending the ball beyond Bodart to extend PSG’s advantage to 3-1.
Le Havre had an opportunity to reduce the deficit when Maja headed the ball against the outside of the post. However, PSG quickly turned defence into attack.
Hakimi helped launch the counter-attacking move that led to the visitors' fourth goal. After the goalkeeper moved away from his line, Mayulu took advantage of the space and scored from distance in the 62nd minute.
Seven minutes later, Hakimi completed his hat-trick. His initial attempt was stopped by Bodart, but the rebound went into the net off the Moroccan defender, bringing the score to 5-1.
The achievement marked the first three-goal performance of Hakimi’s professional career. He was subsequently substituted after completing a memorable evening.
PSG Maintain Their Strong Run
The victory was another important result for Luis Enrique’s side, who continued their recovery after collecting only one point from their opening three league matches.
PSG entered the fixture with several attacking players unavailable, including Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The coach also made changes to the starting lineup, giving other members of the squad an opportunity to contribute.
Hakimi’s performance proved decisive, while Godts and Mayulu also made their mark on the scoresheet. The Moroccan defender’s involvement in every PSG goal highlighted his influence beyond his usual defensive responsibilities.
For Le Havre, the defeat extended a difficult start to the campaign. The club remained at the bottom of the standings with only two points after nine matches, leaving them under pressure to improve their results.
PSG, meanwhile, will look to carry their winning momentum into their upcoming fixtures as they continue their pursuit of domestic and European success. Hakimi’s first career hat-trick will stand out as one of the defining individual performances of their season so far.
