Shah Rukh Khan has unveiled a striking new poster for his upcoming film King, while actor Imran Khan has received temporary relief from a notice directing him to leave India. The two developments have drawn attention across the entertainment industry, with one building anticipation for a major theatrical release and the other involving an ongoing legal dispute before the Bombay High Court.
Shah Rukh Khan Reveals an Intense New Look in ‘King’
Shah Rukh Khan shared a new poster for King on October 27, offering audiences a closer look at his character in the action thriller. The poster features the actor walking through a fiery setting, with a rose and a gun forming part of his dramatic appearance.
Alongside the image, the superstar posted the line, “Aaj phir yaad aaya... Qaatil nahi… Aashiq hoon…,” reinforcing the film’s blend of action and romance.
The announcement also confirmed the film’s theatrical release date as December 24, 2026, placing it in the Christmas holiday window. The release is expected to be an important moment for the actor, whose upcoming project has generated considerable interest among fans.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King features an ensemble cast that includes Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji, along with several other performers. The project also marks the first film pairing Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana Khan on the big screen.
The new poster has renewed interest in the film’s action-driven visual style as audiences await further promotional material ahead of its December release.
Imran Khan Receives Interim Relief From Bombay High Court
In a separate development, actor Imran Khan has received temporary relief in his challenge to a notice issued by the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) directing him to leave India.
The Bombay High Court has kept the notice in abeyance until November 2, the next scheduled hearing. The development means that no action under the notice will be taken before the matter returns to court.
Imran Khan, a US citizen who holds an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card, challenged the directive after being told to leave India by October 28. The notice reportedly followed allegations that he participated in a protest in Mumbai on October 10.
The protest was connected to demands concerning Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and allegations about the functioning of the electoral system. A complaint was reportedly submitted by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya, following which the matter was referred to the relevant authorities.
The allegations remain part of the wider dispute and should not be treated as a final determination of wrongdoing.
Legal Challenge to Continue in November
The actor has approached the High Court seeking to challenge the notice and its legal basis. His petition questions the action taken against him and seeks relief against the direction to leave the country.
During the latest proceedings, the Centre sought additional time before the next hearing. The court consequently postponed further consideration of the matter and kept the notice on hold in the meantime.
The November 2 hearing is expected to provide the next opportunity for the parties to present their positions. Until then, the interim arrangement remains in place, and the legal challenge has not been finally decided.
Two Developments Draw Attention to Bollywood
The contrasting stories illustrate the range of developments involving prominent figures from the Hindi film industry. Shah Rukh Khan’s latest poster has put the spotlight on an upcoming commercial release, while Imran Khan’s case has raised questions about immigration procedures, OCI status and the legal limits of administrative action.
For King, the immediate focus will be the film’s promotional campaign and its planned Christmas release. In Imran Khan’s case, attention will turn to the Bombay High Court’s next hearing and any further directions issued regarding the notice.
