Adah Sharma Says Living in Sushant Singh Rajput’s Former Mumbai Home Is a Personal Choice, Not an Act of Courage

Adah Sharma Says Living in Sushant Singh Rajput’s Former Mumbai Home Is a Personal Choice, Not an Act of Courage

Actress Adah Sharma has opened up about living in the Mumbai apartment once occupied by late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, explaining that she does not consider her decision an act of bravery. For her, the residence is simply a home that suits her lifestyle and personal preferences.

In a recent interview, Sharma said she sees no reason to treat the apartment differently because of its history. She explained that she rents the property from its owner, just as Rajput did before her, and believes people should feel comfortable choosing the kind of living environment that works for them.

Her comments have renewed interest in the actress’s unconventional home and the minimalist lifestyle she shares with her mother.

‘It Is a Normal Thing,’ Says the Actress

Sharma rejected the suggestion that moving into the apartment required exceptional courage. She explained that both she and Rajput had lived in the same property as tenants, and that its past should not determine how she feels about living there.

The actress also emphasised that people have different ideas about comfort. Rather than following conventional expectations, she prefers to experiment with her surroundings and make choices based on what feels right for her.

She pointed out that people often assume a particular way of living is necessary simply because it is common. In her view, trying different arrangements can help individuals discover what genuinely suits them.

For Sharma, the apartment is not defined solely by its previous occupant. Its atmosphere, space and suitability for her everyday life are more important considerations.

A Home Built Around Nature and Simplicity

Sharma and her mother have developed a lifestyle that places considerable emphasis on greenery and simple living. One of the property’s main attractions is its terrace, where they grow vegetables and maintain a garden.

The actress has spoken enthusiastically about spending time in the garden and enjoying the natural light and views available from the home. She described the experience of seeing the sunrise, sunset and moonrise from different parts of the property as particularly special.

Her approach to interior living also differs from conventional arrangements. Sharma has previously discussed living without several traditional pieces of furniture, including a standard bed, sofa and dining table.

Instead of organising the apartment around commonly accepted ideas of how a home should look, she and her mother have shaped the space according to their own habits and preferences.

The arrangement reflects Sharma’s broader belief that comfort is personal and that a home does not need to follow a fixed formula to feel complete.

Returning Home After a Long Shooting Schedule

Sharma also spoke about the emotional satisfaction of returning to her own space after an extended period away for work. She revealed that she had recently completed a shooting schedule lasting approximately two months and was happy to sleep at home again.

The experience reinforced how much she values her surroundings and daily routine. For the actress, the feeling of missing home while travelling for work is part of appreciating the place where she lives.

Her comments offered a glimpse into a side of her life that differs from the usual focus on film projects, public appearances and entertainment industry events.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s Former Residence Continues to Attract Attention

Rajput, who died in June 2020, remains a subject of public interest, and the apartment where he once lived continues to draw attention because of its association with the actor.

Sharma moved into the property in 2023. Her decision has periodically prompted public discussion, particularly around whether living in a residence connected to a well-known figure carries a special emotional significance.

Her latest remarks suggest that she prefers to approach the subject practically rather than treating the apartment as a symbolic statement. She has focused on the space as her home and on the lifestyle she has created there with her mother.

Ultimately, Sharma’s perspective centres on individual choice. She believes that a living space should reflect the needs and preferences of the people occupying it, rather than expectations shaped by convention or its history.
