There are few spheres of life other than sport that are as unique as they are thrilling.
But on the ground or the pitch, there’s pressure and the expectations are buzzing endlessly.
What happens off the pitch beyond live action and away from the duty-bound tedium that can grind our sporting heroes?
Well, as seen in a brand new initiative that was held in the beating heart of the national capital- it seems- the athletes go “Off The Clock”!
Because a new experience of togetherness and reverie takes place when athletes step away from the pressures of competition and come together for an evening of fun, games and conversations.
On October 25, as North & Beyond in collaboration with Next Point hosted the inaugural edition of ‘Off The Clock’ in the beating heart of New Delhi, the event stood at an intersection of sports, community building and entertainment!
Co-founded by Malvika Prabhakar and Hariom Poswal, North & Beyond collaborated and organised with Next Point to bring together athletes, sports personalities and digital creators fan evening that went beyond the conventional idea of networking.
The idea was simple. To create a space where people from different sporting disciplines could connect, interact and enjoy themselves away from the demands of their respective professions. After all, isn’t sport as much about camaraderie and shared experiences as it is about competition?
The gathering saw representation from Cricket, Basketball, Hockey, Padel and Para-athletics, alongside fitness influencers and digital creators.
Prominent sporting names, including Pradeep Sangwan, Navdeep Saini and Sarthak Ranjan, joined the festivities, adding to the evening’s buzz.
From Beer Pong to other engaging contests, the evening offered participants an opportunity to let their hair down, indulge in some friendly competition and forge connections in a relaxed setting.
It was networking with a sporting twist, where the emphasis was on participation, interaction and having a good time.
The event also marked a significant milestone for North & Beyond, attracting the backing of seven corporate sponsors for its debut edition. The support points to the potential of bringing athletes, creators and brands together through community-led experiences.
The launch follows North & Beyond’s recent work in Europe with ETPL and Glasgow Cosmic around the inaugural Premier League event in the series, providing a wider backdrop to the company’s ambitions in the sporting space.
Looking ahead, North & Beyond and Next Point intend to develop ‘Off The Clock’ into a recurring property, with plans to take the experience to major Indian cities and international sporting hubs.
The launch also reflects North & Beyond’s larger ambition to create scalable, impactful intellectual properties (IPs) within the sporting ecosystem. Having already successfully delivered traditional sports leagues, the company is looking to expand its footprint by developing differentiated formats that bring athletes, brands and audiences together beyond the playing field.
The collaboration with Next Point on ‘Off The Clock’ marks a step in that direction.
With plans to take the property to major Indian cities and international sporting hubs, the founders envision a recurring platform that can grow across markets while retaining its focus on community, engagement and sporting culture.
For North & Beyond, the objective is clear: to go beyond organising events and build properties with the potential for sustained engagement, commercial partnerships and long-term impact.
