Dhanush Says ‘No One But God’ Amid Speculation Over BJP Backing and Political Debut

Dhanush Says ‘No One But God’ Amid Speculation Over BJP Backing and Political Debut

Tamil actor Dhanush has found himself at the centre of fresh political speculation in Tamil Nadu, with questions emerging about a possible entry into politics and alleged links with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The actor, however, has not officially announced any plans to launch a political party or contest elections.

The speculation has intensified following changes within his fan network, welfare initiatives across the state and a recent meeting with women supporters in Chennai. Amid the growing discussion, Dhanush’s reported response, “No one but God,” has drawn attention as questions continue about his political intentions.

Dhanush’s Political Plans Remain Unclear

Tamil Nadu has a long history of film personalities entering politics, making developments surrounding popular actors a subject of public interest. The recent electoral success of actor-turned-politician C Joseph Vijay has added to discussions about whether other leading film stars could follow a similar path.

Dhanush’s name has emerged in this conversation as his fan organisation expands its activities beyond cinema-related events. Despite the growing interest, the actor has not made a formal announcement about entering electoral politics.

His public interactions have largely focused on meeting supporters, extending festive greetings and encouraging welfare activities. For now, there is no confirmed indication that he intends to establish a political party.

Fan Organisation’s Transformation Fuels Speculation

One of the developments attracting attention is the restructuring of Dhanush’s fan club into the Dhanush Narpani Iyakkam, also described as the Dhanush Welfare Movement.

The organisation has been encouraging supporters to participate in activities intended to benefit local communities. Dhanush has previously urged his fans to use their collective strength to help people in their neighbourhoods rather than limiting their involvement to film events.

These activities have prompted questions about whether the organisation could eventually develop into a broader political platform. However, welfare work and the expansion of a fan network do not, by themselves, confirm plans for a political debut.

Silver Lamps Spark Debate Over Possible BJP Links

A meeting organised for women supporters on October 25 in Chennai added another dimension to the speculation. Thousands of supporters reportedly gathered to meet the actor, who interacted with attendees and distributed silver lamps as gifts.

Images of lotus symbols engraved on the lamps fuelled suggestions of a possible connection with the BJP, whose election symbol is also a lotus. The meeting, combined with reports of Dhanush’s interactions with political figures, intensified questions about whether he was preparing to enter public life.

However, representatives associated with the actor’s welfare movement have rejected suggestions that the gifts indicated a political association, explaining that the emblem was a manufacturer’s mark rather than a political message.

Dhanush did not deliver a political speech at the gathering and did not provide a definitive answer when questioned about his future plans.

Political Leaders Weigh In

The possibility of Dhanush entering politics has drawn reactions from different political quarters. Some leaders have expressed openness to his participation in democratic politics, while others have suggested that the renewed attention surrounding the actor could have wider political implications.

Comments from Congress and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) figures have also brought the BJP into the discussion, with allegations that the party could be interested in encouraging a new film personality to enter Tamil Nadu politics.

The BJP, however, has distanced itself from claims that it is directing Dhanush’s activities. Political speculation has continued, but no publicly confirmed agreement between the actor and the party has emerged.

Cinema Remains a Key Focus

While discussions about a possible political career continue, Dhanush remains an established figure in the Tamil film industry, with projects lined up for release and production.

His expanding welfare organisation may indicate a desire to strengthen his relationship with supporters, but its long-term purpose remains uncertain. Until the actor makes a clear announcement, claims about his political ambitions or party affiliations remain speculative.

For now, Dhanush’s reported remark, “No one but God,” has added to the intrigue surrounding his future, without settling the central question of whether he intends to enter Tamil Nadu politics.
