A 22-year-old man from Sonipat, Haryana, has been arrested in Indore in connection with the shooting incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai. The arrest marks another development in the ongoing investigation, as police examine the alleged network behind the October 18 attack and attempt to establish the roles of those suspected of assisting the operation.
The accused, identified as Pranjal Thakran, was taken into custody during a joint operation involving the Mumbai and Indore Crime Branch teams. Investigators suspect that he provided logistical assistance to individuals allegedly involved in the incident. His precise role and connections with other suspects are being examined.
Arrest Made During Joint Police Operation
According to preliminary information, Thakran had arrived in Indore around five days before his arrest to visit his brother, who was receiving medical treatment in the city. Police traced his location to the Pardesipura area before carrying out the operation.
The arrest followed information gathered during the wider investigation into the shooting. Officers are questioning Thakran to determine whether he helped arrange resources for the alleged attackers and whether he had links with people suspected of planning the incident.
Investigators are also examining the possible supply of weapons and other forms of assistance connected with the attack. Further questioning is expected to help clarify the sequence of events and establish the extent of each suspect’s alleged involvement.
Police Recover Firearms in Surat
The investigation has also led police to Surat in Gujarat, where officers recovered two firearms and 10 live cartridges during a targeted operation. The weapons are suspected of being connected to the shooting involving Shroff’s vehicle.
The recovered items have been sent for forensic examination and ballistic testing. Investigators intend to determine whether the weapons match evidence collected from the scene in Mumbai.
Tracing the movement of the weapons has become an important part of the case. Police are working to reconstruct how the firearms were obtained, transported and allegedly made available to the individuals involved in the incident.
The recovery could provide additional evidence as investigators seek to establish the connections between those accused of carrying out the shooting and others suspected of supporting them.
What Happened in Mumbai on October 18?
The incident took place in Mumbai’s Juhu area on October 18, when armed individuals allegedly fired at Shroff’s car before fleeing on a motorcycle.
The actor escaped without serious injury, while his driver and another person sustained injuries. Police said several rounds were fired at the vehicle. A motorcycle suspected of being used during the incident was subsequently found abandoned in Andheri.
Three men were taken into custody in Kota, Rajasthan, on October 19 in connection with the attack. Investigators have since continued to question suspects and examine evidence to understand how the incident was organised.
Police are also investigating claims that individuals allegedly coordinating the operation passed information about the investigation to those attempting to evade arrest. These claims remain part of the ongoing probe.

Gangster Anil Pandit has also been named as a wanted accused after claiming responsibility for the incident in a social media post. Police are investigating the claim and the alleged connections between the people involved.
